Webinar with UITPANZ
The International Association of Public Transport is represented in the Australia and New Zealand region by UITP Australia/New Zealand (known as UITPANZ). UITPANZ is part of the Asia-Pacific Division of the UITP global family. UITPANZ facilitates the exchange of ideas and knowledge to further the development and advancement of public transport policy, planning and operations in the region. It is the only international association covering all modes of public transport in the Australia/New Zealand region.
The webinar “Public Transport Responses to COVID-19” shared perspectives on how public transport is responding to COVID-19 both locally and overseas. Speakers include: Michelle Batsas, Executive Director of UITP ANZ; Joe Ma, Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Bus Group (SZBG); Hallie Liao, Head of International Development of SZBG; Yale Wong, Research Associate of Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS).
Joe and Hallie shared Shenzhen Bus' experience in resumption of work and business in China, the impacts on service levels and patronage, the overall sentiment,solution for emergency issues and management of the workforce. Additional topics that panelists discussed include: the transport landscape in the future, combat potentially lower fare revenues caused by the funding of public transport and potential opportunities that might be derived by the industry from this challenging time.
The webinar brings together government departments, agencies and authorities with responsibility for public transport, public transport operators, the service and supply industry, research institutes, academics and consultants.
