Passenger Evacuation from Costa Venezia Cruise Ship

The cruise ship Costa Venezia, which departed from Shenzhen Shekou port to Vietnam on January 21, returned to Shenzhen in the morning of January 26 after completing the round trip. Among 5000 passengers on board, 148 had travel and contact history to Wuhan.

Shenzhen Bus Group quickly launched an emergency evacuation plan for passengers onboard, mobilizing 70 emergency vehicles to evacuate passengers. The Group re-disinfected all participating emergency vehicles, and provided alcohol with a concentration of over 75% in each vehicle. The front-line drivers participating in this task wore full protective clothing, including face masks and gloves.

Seven emergency vehicles of SZBG’s fifth branch company successfully transferred 148 Hubei passengers who completed COVID-19 inspection to the designated hotel. The third branch company and the fourth branch company transferred all the held-up passengers from non-epicenter areas to the “Window of the World” station from Shekou Cruise Center. All returning emergency vehicles have been disinfected after completing the evacuation mission. On February 3, the bus drivers undertaking the transfer task returned to work routine after their confinement period was over.
