On March 11th, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. Transport and in particular public transport, is on the one hand a vector for global and local distribution of the virus and on the other hand has yet to meet the community’s demand for travel.
TUMI-initiative and its partner GIZ invited Shenzhen Bus Group(SZBG)to join a webinar as expert speaker for combating COVID-19. As a result of SZBG’s timely and comprehensive actions and responses, it has so far avoided any major situation in operation.
Shenzhen Bus Group's Deputy General Manager (Joe Ma), and Head of International Development (Hallie Liao) shared Shenzhen Bus' experience in combating Covid 19, highlighting the importance of planning and organisation from the setting up of Task Force and Working Groups in dealing with aspects including preventive measures against the virus, emergency procurement of protective clothing and sanitising materials, media communication, self isolation and resumption of work, staff consulling and welfare (Employee Assistant Programme) to some of the emergency operations required by Shenzhen Bus such as the evacuation of passengers the Cruise (insert name) from Shekou Cruise Terminal to transporting of passengers entering into Shenzhen from the Shenzhen International Airport and the Shenzhen Bay Border Crossing POint
